Achut Deng, author of Don’t Look Back, will share her harrowing story of how she survived the Sudanese civil war and eventually made her way to Sioux Falls.

The free event, “From South Sudan to South Dakota,” will be held Tuesday, October 22, at 7 p.m. at Augustana University’s chapel, 2125 South Summit Avenue, Sioux Falls.

The program is sponsored by All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Sioux Falls and is made possible by a grant from the South Dakota Humanities Council, an affiliate program of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Deng’s book, Don’t Look Back, will be available for purchase at the event. The event will conclude with a Q&A session and book signing.
