Ecstatic Dance This event is offered by friends of All Souls, at All Souls. All ages/family. Admission. Snacks served. An "Ecstatic Dance" is a DJ'd event, for anyone 18 & older (some events are all ages). A judgment-free container & safe space where you are welcomed to express yourself through any form of movement you feel inspired! Guided by an hour & 1/2 mixed set that crosses genres creating a fusion of musical flavors inspired by EDM, hip-hop, reggae, folk, rock, tribal, funk, bass, & the list goes on. participants are welcome to come or go during any portion of the dance. ***((DANCE GUIDELINES))*** We ask all dancers to follow specific guidelines when entering & while participating in the dance space: * Clearly impaired or people altered by substances will be asked to leave * Photos & video are prohibited * Shoes off before entering the dance floor *No talking on the dance floor * Sounds are welcomed like yips, cheers, sighs, grunts - let it out within reason * Please avoid wearing strong scents, oils, perfumes, or body spray * Take responsibility for your own physical & emotional comfort *If you need a break there is a space for stretching, meditating & grounding - massage station and props are provided * Be conscious about what you bring with you to the dance floor, physically, mentally, emotionally & energetically * All challenging or heavy-charged energetic states are welcome if brought on to the dance floor with the intention of allowing transformation *Stay hydrated & listen to your body ***((Dancing with others))*** * You must obtain clear permission to engage in a dance with other dancers * To request to engage in a dance with someone, please receive clear permission * Mirror movements and make solid eye contact; be present and conscious with how they respond * Go forward with respect if they open their dance to your invitation * You do not have to accept any invitation to dance from anyone, any time, ever * You may end any dance you started or joined with anyone at any time, for any reason * If you'd rather not dance [...] |
