Children’s RE – April & May 2018

April 1 — Today’s theme is spring holidays! Easter customs are based on pagan and Christian traditions. Today we’ll talk about the different ways people celebrate Easter.

April 8 — Spring planting is today’s topic. Our church is place to make beautiful. Celebrate with us our joy and appreciation for the beauty of nature, we’ll do some indoor planting today.

April 15 — Babies!! Springtime is a time of new birth for many living creatures — plants and animals, birds and fish. Today we’ll talk about all kinds of babies and their need for comfort and protection in their family environment.

April 22 — Let’s celebrate Earth Day! Just like our 7th Principle says: We believe in caring for our planet Earth, the home we share with all living things! Today we will do some activities and crafts that encourage taking care of the earth.

April 29 — May Day is celebrated May 1 as a spring festival that marks the arrival of life in early spring. Join our circle as we celebrate this special day.

May 6 — Today we’re talking about the changing of seasons. Celebrating Spring! What are the first signs of spring — cherry blossoms or lilacs or pussy willows?  Join us as we have fun while exploring these ideas.

May 13 — Let’s talk about families. Mother’s Day is observed in May and Father’s Day is observed in June. There are many different kinds of families — today we’ll talk about sharing love and care of others.

May 20th —  Children will present a responsive reading during service in honor of our last official Children’s Religious Education Class and then we’ll head downstairs (or outside, weather permitting) for games and activities to celebrate our time together this past school year. Join us for this fun Sunday morning!
