Rosebud Student Backpack Snack Holiday Donation Drive Through Nov. 22

All Souls is continuing to help feed hungry students on the Rosebud Indian Reservation for a seventh year. We are again collecting food donations from our church community and beyond for students to take home during their December holiday break. We will be collecting donations at church November 1 through November 22.
Please consider donating food or other items.

Many students on the reservation come from food-challenged homes. While they can get many of their meals at school while in session, families in poverty situations can find it difficult to provide enough food during an extended school break. This is especially true in a remote, rural community where food stores are far away and the means to get there, especially in winter and with high gas prices are even more challenging.

This drive will be focusing on Spring Creek school, a rural school serving 74 K-8 students in a 15-mile radius.
We are asking again for healthy snack items that any small child can easily open and eat without cooking, preparation, or refrigeration. Cash donations are also fine, and the school can use that to purchase food from Feeding SD.  Other items, including warm clothing, books, and small toys new or nearly new will also be accepted.

“The parents and guardians appreciate all the help, especially through the holiday break,” says Spring Creek principal Leslie Crow.

Please be generous and please bring your donations to church no later than November 22. A donation button for monetary contributions is also on our sfuu.org website, at the bottom of our front page.
