My Steps to Citizenship

A narrative of my life & challenges from Mexico to the US and my fight to get out of poverty.

Alejandro (Alex) Ramirez studied Multimedia and network communications at Contra Costa College in

San Pablo California. He is the owner and founder of USA Media TV and Marketing. With over 20 years of

experience in TV and Multi Media Production, he currently produces content for local television and the

web. He owns and maintains a business video directory for the city of Sioux Falls. Alex has a reputation

for technical and creative excellence as well as for consistent completion of projects on time and within

budget. He specializes in Television and Documentary Production, TV Commercials, Training Videos and

DVD design. He also provides top-quality A/V support for local events.

Alex is currently producing Al Dia TV show. The only Spanish TV Show in the midwest that talks about

local issues affecting the Hispanic community. It airs on KELO’s MyUTV every Saturday at 3pm.

Alex is very involved with the community. Two years ago, he started a nonprofit organization dedicated

to inform the Hispanic communities through radio, TV, print and social media. He also co-started the

Hispanic Business Network, which is a networking group of Hispanic business owners and leaders in the

Sioux Falls Area. Alex is honored to be currently serving on the Board of Directors of Sioux Falls Chamber

of Commerce and on the Board of Trustees of Avera McKennan. He is also a Board Member for the

Sioux Empire United Way and the Sioux Falls Downtown Rotary chapter. He is currently an organizer for

the 5 de mayo celebration, held annually. He serves on the Board of the American Cancer Society as

well. He is a commissioner for the Sioux Falls Human Relations and is a member of the Sioux Falls

Affordable Housing advisory committee.
